Sales leaders often establish their target goal based on last year’s numbers. They assign a percentage as the increase and set out for the next fiscal year. What did we do last year, last quarter, last month, last 10 day cycle? Now let’s multiply that by a random factor and compare. Many businesses, teams and ministries set goals or targets of accountability or accomplishment similarly. How many meetings, decisions, services were completed? How much money did we raise? How many people did we help? Seems like a simple and safe process for establishing a growth path. Some will even throw in “side targets” like build a personal brand along the way.
