Adapted from the best selling U.S. set novel, young Auggie Pullman has been born with facial differences. Embarrassed about his appearance, and fanatical about science, he wears an astronaut’s helmet. As he starts attending mainstream school for the first time, Auggie tries to fit in and make everyone realise that he is no different to anybody else. Over the course of a remarkable year, he and the other students learn about compassion, empathy and understanding, with Auggie becoming an unlikely hero. We discuss the themes and talking points in this inspiring family film, including the importance of learning to see the world through other people’s eyes and to always strive to choose kindness.
