#2/19 Hospices and Volunteering - Anxiety Support

This episode is all about the wonderful support network being run by Herriot Hospice Homecare, Saint Michael's Hospice and the Just 'B' Here to Help lines. Tony Collins is the CEO overseeing all this activity with a team of 200 staff members and 6-700 willing volunteers. They provide 40-60 hours per day of support in the homes. Tony talks today about the range of services available, in Harrogate district as well as Hambleton and Richmondshire. These are expanding to meet the current and foreseeable future requirements due to extra pressure we are all under at this current time. A newly set up helpline "Here to Help" offers nationwide support for children and adults, in short for anyone affected by Covid 19 who needs additional help. They provide emotional wellbeing advice, as well as bereavement and anxiety support. They are also involved in providing NHS staff with the anticipated additional bereavement and trauma support necessary due to the pandemic.
