Its massive success kicked off a revolution in the tech industry. But on November 17, the company board fired its CEO Sam Altman, citing a lack of candidness in his communications with the board of directors. His dismissal led to panic among investors and a successful campaign for his very prompt reinstatement. Our Business Editor Bryan Quinn explains.
