This weeks podcast delves into a variety of interesting and curious recent tech news, including Ultra Blu-ray drives for the PC, the Windows game bar, Windows game mode, AMD Vega, Qualcomm's lawsuit woes, Google cutting off ads to fake news sites and more. It turned out to be a pretty lively discussion; I hope you have as much fun listening as we had recording it. Tools I trade in my basic black, sound-dampened case, for something a bit more colorful, and only give up a little noise generation in the process. I also talk about the experience of riding the CycleOps Magnus and virtual cycling apps. I also mention the most compact USB flash memory key I've ever seen. I take a stab at shooting my first "knolling" photo, too, which you can see here. The photo contains all the bits that shipped with the Magnus, except the frame itself. David's really digging his Google Pixel phone, but Eric and I have some concerns about the stated data cost of $10 per gigabyte, which seems a tad high. But the Pixel does have a great camera. David also discovers an ultra-compact duffel bag and gets a free set of Bose noise-cancelling headphones. Meanwhile, Eric gets a Prius -- not just a Prius, but a Prius plug-in. And what's really weird is that it comes with a California HOV lane sticker, despite only being able to go eight miles in battery-only mode. Fun I like the Long War 2 mod for XCOM 2 , but worry it might be too much of a good thing. I am, however, looking forward to the release of Ghost Recon Wildlands on March 7 and Arkane Studio's Prey 2 in may. And we're still liking Trollhunters, but if you want a little darkness in your fantasy, season two of The Magicians just resumed on SyFy. Eric hasn't had much game time, though he's been delving deeper into XCOM 2. He did, however, order the Deluxe edition of Mass Effect Andromeda. David did a little Pokemon Go hunting in Taiwan and brought back some Asia-only Pokemon back to the US. He also continues with Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem trilogy, Death's End (Remembrance of Earth's Past , and is dreading its end because he won't have a new book in the series to read. David also discovers that Netflix's much-ballyhooed is actually pretty limited. While in Taipei, he visits the excellent National Palace Museum, which contains historical artifacts from 8,000 years of Chinese history brought to Taiwan by the Nationalist government in the late 1940s. And he may finally be losing interest in The Division . Finally, let's close with the latest Mass Effect Andromeda trailer, which teases some of the basic story line.
