Questions About This Episode

What is 034: Is video marketing working for you? w/ Nina Froriep! about?

About Nina Froriep: Most of the people that start to work with Nina are stuck. And they work with her because she's not just about the videos. Nina makes sure they know WHY they’re doing video and for WHOM they’re doing video, because: Video marketing should work for them ·It shouldn’t be unnecessarily stressful It shouldn’t cost so much that you can’t keep it up It has to have a positive return on investment It definitely shouldn’t be something that you do just because you read that you should be doing it on the internet Some business owners think they can make video marketing work for them with just one or two videos. Others know they need to produce consistent video content but think they need to shell out tons of cash so they just never get started. Whatever the reason, they’re not moving forward, and they need a leg up. Nina is that leg. She's not going to sell a 10-bedroom mansion to someone who needs a studio apartment. Not only can they not afford the mansion itself, but they can’t afford the upkeep. Nina speaks to the entrepreneur that has a small team and needs video to attract, engage, and convert leads on a daily basis. The trick is to keep the creative aspect of video creation in your pocket. Don’t get me wrong, Nina loves big expensive videos, for decades she used to produce big expensive videos for Fortune 500 companies, but social media videos today are like a single-use tissue: People watch them once and then toss them out. You want to focus on delivering value content with those videos, not spend thousands of dollars. The most effective marketing strategy, not just now but for thousands of years, is just to speak clearly, with confidence and consistently about what you believe. If you do that then people will listen. NINA’S BIO: At age seven, she wrote and illustrated my first book. As far as she remembers, the story was about a princess in distress, a knight, and a horse. A modest profit was achieved as the limited and signed edition of ten was sponsored with a parental grant and sold at fifty cents apiece. Today the book remains out of print. She’s seen it all from the early days on independent features, to big national TV commercials, corporate mega-shows and many documentary films, including one she wrote, directed, and produced about Muslim kids in New York, called Abraham's Children. In short, there’s no film- and video- production scenario she hasn’t taken care of. Along the journey, she’s met many, many awesomely wonderful people and a few bad-asses. All of them worth great stories. She’s worked with stars like Sophia Loren, John Malkovich, and Wynton Marsalis, shes interviewed Fortune 500 CEO’s, I’ve worked on Emmy award-winning and Emmy-nominated documentaries, and produced hundreds of videos for uber-corporate shows. Shes negotiated with teamsters, clients (big and small), actors, crew, children, police officers, a few dogs, and one snake. On a personal note, shes a sports-nut – the kind that goes outdoors every moment possible. Central Park is her back yard and she knows (nearly) every inch of it. She's also a certified citizen pruner which affords her the privilege to prune, take care of, and advocate for the city trees of New York. Shes lived in Harlem for close to 20 years, and since April 2011 I’m a proud owner of an American passport. Website: Clock Wise Productions, llc LinkedIn
