Why Should I Forgive? Matthew 6:9-15, Genesis 13:1-10 There are people who will hold out on others because of a hurt or an offense which they suffered from another person. Admittedly, when we have been hurt by someone it is not easy to forgive and move on. Some things are really painful and difficult to overcome. Nevertheless, the word of God teaches that we must forgive if we want to be forgiven by God (Matthew 6:14-15). If you are facing a situation where you are finding it almost impossible to forgive another person, remember forgiveness is not for the offender, but for you who was offended. You are the only one feeling the emotional pain of unforgiveness. Finally, the spirit of unforgiveness comes from the devil, he is the one who uses it as one of his deadly weapons.
