@nodonutshere: There have been some articles in @nypost as of lately about cops being overweight. It hits close to home for obvious reasons. I’ve been pushing for first responders to start training on their own and making healthier decisions for years now. Departments will almost never give you time or extra incentive to train. You have to take it upon yourself to do so. You shouldn’t need extra incentive to train. You should want to be the best version of yourself no matter what you do for work. . . I’ve said it a million times now that as a first responder, your level of fitness at any given moment can determine if you live or die. The same goes for your coworkers and the people you’re sworn to protect. Their lives, as well as yours, are literally in your hands. . . I get a lot of heat at work for my social media and being the “workout guy”, “muscle guy”, “meat head”, “juice head” and I’ve dealt with being drug tested almost weekly at some points because I take my training and nutrition seriously, but I know for a fact that if I’m calling for help on a fifth story walk up, I want someone that does the same showing up. I’ve offered my help with nutrition, training, and supplements countless times and continue to do so no matter how much shit people talk.
