Moon Child

This is a reading of my blog post titled as same. I speak on how all things live in seasons. As someone living with a mental illness and more specifically Bipolar Disorder Type 1 everything I do in life ever since I became public about my diagnoses is scrutinized under the lens of my illness. I write to say that the things I experience are experienced to some extent by all humans; sadness, anger, joy, pain etc. The difference with people like me and others is that we experience all these shifts in mood and personality on the extreme ends. On a spectrum, I may always be on the extreme end. I am mindful of that and I commit to myself in this piece to be ready for all “seasons” especially the impending one. I promise to stay; to stay true to myself and my goals. To me, that it what it means to be a moon child; affected by elements beyond my immediate control.
