In celebration of the 27 th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), Tom brought on former Iowa Senator, and champion of the ADA, Tom Harkin. The Toms were also joined by disabilities rights activist Keri Gray. Front and center in the discussion is how the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would devastate the millions of Americans with disabilities who rely on Medicaid. Both Harkin and Gray told moving stories about how they came into the disabilities rights movement. And near the end of the show, Harkin proposed what might be the best advice yet on trying to fight for disability rights in the Trump era.
