Trust and Technology

After a year of online scandals, tech and tech companies are under the microscope. Home pods listen constantly, phones track our movements, and computers control our cars. All the while, we're maxing out our screen time. But does anyone really trust technology any more? To explore the dynamics between trust and distrust in tech and its impact on society, this week Cambridge University launched the Trust and Technology Initiative. We'll speak with Dr Ella McPherson, a Cambridge Lecturer in the Sociology of New Media and Digital Technology, about establishing truth online. Then co-chair, Dr Jat Singh, speaks with us about the Initiative itself.
