Questions About This Episode

What is Dame Theory - Doves vs. Hawks about?

Dame Theory- Doves vs. Hawks Today on Dame Theory the Kate and Charlie delve into a conversation about Game Theory and inequality. Game theory is the study of how and why people make decisions. Specifically, they discuss the "Hawk – Dove" model. In this episode you'll learn whether you're a Hawk or a Dove, and the girls will give you some tips on identifying your personality traits and how to use them to your advantage in your relationships. Highlights: In simple terms Game Theory is two people making decisions at the same time and how best to make those decisions. Hawks and Doves models inequality of personalities. Hawks generally tend to be more aggressive in relationships where as Doves are lovers and more submissive. Two Hawks together can work, as well as a pair of Doves. A Hawk and a Dove paired together can butt heads. Hawks tend to consider their own emotions first and seek out Doves so that they can get their way. Overtime this behavior can become controlling and lead to a power struggle in the relationship. Often times Doves will withdraw from fights/arguments with their Hawk partner, letting the Hawk have it's way. This is often another example of relationship inequality. The Takeaway: Understanding your own personality traits and the personality traits of others can help you make informed decisions when choosing a partner and building relationships in all aspects of your life.
