The Upstream podcast is back, baby. And we're ready to try to remember our favorite movies, TV shows, and memes of 2018, a year that felt very long indeed. Like Toni Collette in Hereditary, sometimes we just had to scream-face it out. Speaking of Hereditary, our esteemed panel will discuss that remarkable and consuming film, which had a lot of us reading the Wikipedia entry before heading to the theater. It was a great year for horror, despite baffling arguments to the contrary: We also discuss The Haunting of Hill House , Suspiria , Annihilation , and The Terror . We didn't have enough time to get to all the TV shows we liked this year, but we do discuss two extremes: The Good Place and Killing Eve. Plus, we look back on the meme-ing of Phantom Thread and a year bookended by Black Panther and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse . Join us!
