The war in the Middle East is pushing up the price of pretty much everything here in Canada. The inflation rate rose to 2.4 per cent in March — largely driven by the price of oil. One of the biggest jumps — the cost of food. And: Ottawa says the number of people who enrolled in the Canadian military surged in the last year. But the number of people who left the military also went up. Also: Uncertain — that’s the status of peace negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. The American delegation is supposed to be in Pakistan on Tuesday for the talks. Iran says it hasn’t decided yet to go.
