Israel: a people being transformed!

When people arrived at Ben Gurion airport in Israel after October 7, 2023, they were greeted by rows of posters displayed for each of the 251 hostages taken to Gaza on that dreadful day along the entry hallway. When we recently arrived in Israel on January 26 there was only one remaining hostage poster for Ran Gvili, whose body had been held in Gaza for 843 days. His body was identified and returned to Israel on the day we arrived, January 26, 2026. After going through customs we headed for the airport train station to ascend up to Jerusalem. On the columns in the train station there were many stickers which were in memory of fallen soldiers. One sticker had just one word, "v'ahavta." The word on the sticker had vowel pointing such as is generally only used in the Hebrew scriptures. It only appears 6 times in the scriptures, meaning, "and you shall love." Passages such as Leviticus 19:18, "but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Leviticus 19:34 "But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself." Deuteronomy 6:5, "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." That was the message of this memorial sticker.
