In this episode I sat down with James "Da Barba", one-third of the salsa band DLG (Dark Latin Groove). DLG sizzled on the charts in the mid 90s to early 2000s with hits like "Juliana" and "La Quiero Morir." Their impact on the music world was so pivotal because they were the first group to successfully blend Caribbean, Latin, and R & B genres. Da Barba is responsible for many of the reggae- and Latin-fused lyrics sang by the Grammy and Emmy award-winning group. Although the original group disbanded in 2000, Da Barba has never stopped performing the music that feeds his soul and simultaneously nourishes fans worldwide.
