Nordic Buy Out Forum: The changing regulatory​ landscape for M&A

In this special edition of Wiersholm's podcast on recent legal topics, our partners Karsten Kreiling (M&A) and Elisabeth Lian Haugsdal (EU and competition law) discuss the changing regulatory landscape for M&A transactions. Regulatory regimes such as foreign direct investment control (FDI) and the newly introduced Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR) on EU level are currently in focus for M&A practitioners globally. This was highlighted when Wiersholm hosted the Nordic Buy Out Forum in Oslo in December 2023, one of the most important conferences for M&A practitioners in the Nordics with over 500 participants. Several speakers, including Karsten and Elisabeth, emphasised the increase in protectionism and regulatory requirements that pose challenges for M&A, along with potential strategies to navigate these issues.
