YouTube Copyright Strikes and Their Promise to Reduce Take-Down Notices

Finally Revealing My FULL STORY about my YouTube Copyright Strikes! After many requests to tell my own experiences with YouTube's copyright strikes, I finally feel it's safe to make this video about it. During the last four days (Fab. 27 through March 1) YouTube has been making public announcements that they have been listening to feedback and are now putting more focus into updating and changing how their policies of copyright infringement, content ID, and YouTube channel takedowns will be changing for the better. Do I believe it? Well, after you learn of my story, you'll probably understand why I am hesitant to put too much trust in the promise. My particular situation happened in March of 2015; so it's one year later that I am willing to share my story in full. When YouTube started to publicly encourage YouTube Creators to let them know of their experiences with the "bots" who run the system, I knew that the timing for me to talk is right, and is right NOW. My case involved the usage of a string of three words from a song that was produced way back in the 1970's by a group I will not name (still having the mistrust of using that artist's name or song title). It was during my set of 65 video series of my "Talking Lyrics" when all I did was "speak" the words of a song (very badly, I must say), and not music was ever heard; I didn't sing, I didn't hum; all I did was.... well, it's best to watch this video and see what I did. My video in my own words explains the situation and the process I underwent. Part or my message is to encourage all YouTube Creators to follow up on this hashtag -- , which doesn't stand for what you're automatically thinking. It stands for "Where's The Fair Use." This is the crux. Stay current with the changes that are about to come, and what you should already know about copyright and Fair Use. My story is unique in the most crazy way, so be prepared to roll your eyes a bit, scratch your head in disbelief, and maybe even have a little laugh or two.
