I have always like being outdoors ever since I was a little kid. 我从小就喜欢户外活动。 It's always been like foraging, you know, just kind of goes along with that, and just like learning about what the plants are and what you can eat. 这就像觅食一样，自然而然了解到这些植物是什么，以及哪些可以食用。 Reading this Native American ethnobotany book, I was just looking up what tribes lived in this region, and what plants they used for what. 读这本美洲原住民族民族植物学书籍时，我刚刚查阅了哪些部落曾居住在这一地区，以及他们使用哪些植物来做什么。 So I was looking for plants in Texas, and found out that Native Americans around here used yaupon, which is a their only access to caffeine. 我在德克萨斯州寻找植物，发现这里附近的美洲原住民使用代茶冬青， 这是他们获得咖啡因的唯一途径。 It's the only caffeinated plant native to North America.
