1996年，英国Britpop风潮来到顶峰，所谓90年代英伦四巨头已全数亮相。Pulp乐队经历20年蛰伏终于在96年推出了被认为是Britpop最佳专辑的《Different Class》，并因此获得了96年水星奖。另一代表，创造现场人数奇迹的绿洲乐队的第二张专辑《(What's the Story?)
