儒林列传

太史公曰：余读功令，至于广厉学官之路，未尝不废书而叹也。曰：嗟乎！夫周室衰而关雎作，幽厉微而礼乐坏，诸侯恣行，政由强国。故孔子闵王路废而邪道兴，于是论次诗书，修起礼乐。适齐闻韶，三月不知肉味。自卫返鲁，然后乐正，雅颂各得其所。世以混浊莫能用，是以仲尼干七十馀君无所遇，曰“茍有用我者，期月而已矣”。西狩获麟，曰“吾道穷矣”。故因史记作春秋，以当王法，其辞微而指博，后世学者多录焉。
